FAQs – DOA Claims and Fish Safety

What is the DOA (Dead on Arrival) policy at Poseidon Aquatics?

If the fish arrive in poor condition or dead, you can file a DOA claim within 1 hour of delivery. Mandatory proof includes an unboxing video and a tank-releasing video.

Why are unboxing and tank-releasing videos mandatory?

These videos help verify the fish’s condition and ensure proper acclimation procedures. Claims without these videos cannot be entertained.

How does Poseidon Aquatics ensure the safety of the fish during transit?

We package live fish in oxygenated bags with proper insulation to maintain temperature and reduce stress.

What can I do to ensure the fish’s safety after delivery?

  • Acclimate the fish slowly by floating the bag in the tank to equalize the temperature.
  • Gradually mix tank water into the bag to help the fish adjust.
  • Avoid sudden changes in water temperature, pH, or salinity.

What happens if the fish die after 24 hours?

Once the 24-hour period has passed, the fish's health becomes the customer’s responsibility. Proper care and tank conditions are essential.
